The International Museum of The Horse
“The International Museum of the Horse is committed to educating the general public, equestrian and academic communities about the relationship between man and the horse throughout history and the world.”

Since 1978, IMH has played an important role in the state and local communities. Through a coordinated exhibitions and collections program, IMH is committed to engaging the community and preserving artifacts and knowledge related to the horse and its influence on the residents of the Bluegrass Region.

With over 38,000 square feet of exhibition space, IMH is dedicated to the history of the horse and its unique relationship with humans through time. Permanent museum exhibitions highlight the history of the horse from ancient times to the many popular sporting events of modern times.

The Kentucky Horse Park
"The park is home to some 115 horses representing approximately 50 different breeds during our main summer season. Most of these horses are housed in barns throughout the main "tourist attraction" area of the park including the Hall of Champions, Breeds Barn, Draft Horse Barn, Carriage Horse Barn and Big Barn, as well as our riding concession. Literally thousands of additional horses ship in to the park to compete in horse shows throughout the year. We have fewer horses in the winter season since some horses, on loan from different owners across the United States and Canada, go home at the end of the summer season."

The Red Mile Harness Track
"Known for its red clay, one-mile track, The Red Mile is the second oldest harness track in the world. For over 130 years, harness racing’s elite have converged on The Red Mile to stage some of the greatest equine battles in history."
